The German Army Invaded Poland on the 1st of September 1939 but relationships between Poland and Germany had been strained for some time before the start of the invasion which was the star of the Second World War.

Poland had invested into Industrial defences before the lead up to the War but did not plan any fighting at that time.

At the time the German Luftwaffe was regarded as much stronger than the Polish Air force due to technology of new Aircraft but the trained Polish pilots played a major role later in the War.
